Episode 03: How to choose your doula?
How to choose your doula? In today’s episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ann Fulcher, doula and head of the Hearts and Hands UCSD
Not your regular protein cake! The addition of sweet potato makes it higher in fibers. Moreover it doesn’t taste like sweet potato at all, it gives it this kind of moist texture we are looking for in a chocolate swirl cake. Perfect for my postpartum moms out there!
For the protein powder, I chose to use Majka’s one. I am an affiliate of this postpartum brand because their mission is perfectly aligned with mine: elevate today’s postpartum care and give access to postpartum moms to a healthy and nourishing lifestyle.
Their products are made with lots of care, and I like that they are always sharing more resources to help new moms navigate their postpartum journey. We are here for you, holding your hand when you need to.
To be fully transparent, being an affiliate means that if you decide to purchase some of their products through the links in this blog article, I will earn a small commission.
Cherry on the cake, I have a promo code for you to get an additional 10% off. Scroll down to find it!
So now, why is this protein powder interesting? It is:
To make it even more delicious, add a little bit of berry jam on top or dip into a spoonful of peanut butter 😉
15 minutes
To make it tastier, warm it up before eating!
Pre-heat the oven to 340F.
Thoroughly rinse the sweet potatoes and peel them off. Bring some water to a boil. Boil the sweet potatoes until soft enough for pureeing them. Once cooked and drained, transfer them to a bowl and puree them with a fork. Let them cool – you can transfer them to your fridge if needed.
In another bowl, mix together the almond flour, the salt and baking powder.
In a mixer, whisk the soften butter with the sugar.
Crack the eggs and separate the yolks from the egg whites. Add the yolks to the butter and sugar mix. Whisk together.
Add the sweet potato puree. While whisking everything, slowly add the coconut cream to the mix.
Then, add the flour-baking powder mix to the dough. Make sure to combine them thoroughly.
Lastly, in another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. Gently combine them to the dough.
Lay some parchment paper at the bottom of a loaf pan.
Divide the dough: put 2/3rd in the loaf pan already.
In the other 1/3rd add the Majka chocolate protein powder and mix thoroughly.
Then, add the chocolate dough on top in your loaf pan. Try to do it form a certain height to allow the chocolate dough to penetrate the bottom one to form a swirl.
Take a butter knife and swirl it horizontally. Repeat vertically for a nice swirl on top of your loaf. Everyone has its own technique to swirl so feel free to experiment!
Not your usual swirl cake! Support your recovery and milk supply by adding some Majka protein powder!
