Osteopathy combines different types of technique to support your body's ability to self-heal, and improve your health

Craniosacral Osteopathy

Allows a global approach by acting indirectly and softly on the craniosacral system (bones of the skull, sacrum, central nervous system, cerebrospinal fluid, dural membranes and duramater)

Functional Techniques

Gentle direct and indirect techniques used to improve any joint mobility. Works also on the connective tissue supporting the joint. It's a soft mobilization of the joint.

Fascial Techniques

Fascia are sheets of tissues surrounding the organs, joints, bones, muscles, etc. It's like a giant web connecting everything. Working on fascias improves one's mobility, organ function, stress, etc

Visceral Techniques

Performed on the organs of the body. It has an influence on all the surrounding structures like muscles, ligaments, bones and joints. We work on the nerves, attaching structures, and function of the organ.

Myotensive Techniques

Work on the muscular system. It's a combination of contraction and relaxation of the muscles against resistance - called isometric contraction - to help restore joints' mobility.

Structural Techniques

Also called HVLA (high velocity low amplitude) techniques. Helps to restore joint mobility. We can sometimes hear a "pop" during this maneuver. It's a very precise technique used mostly on the spine. Not used on babies and young kids.

Meet your Osteopath

Having gone through several episodes of hormonal imbalances myself (endometriosis, etc), I am passionate about women’s health.

I became an osteopath as I wanted to not only help people feel better but also get to the root cause of their symptoms, pain and discomfort, for long lasting results.

Osteopathy and all of its tools allow me to have this type of holistic and gentle approach that really makes a difference in how you feel daily.

I help women at all stages of their lives, whether you’re currently pregnantpostpartum, or navigating the premenopause period.

Osteopathy also helps those struggling with ailments related to hormonal imbalances (endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, adenomyosis, etc.), and also with microbiota imbalances (dysbiosis) affecting your general health (extreme fatigue, digestive problems, insomnia, stress, hair loss, etc.).

I’m trained in pediatric osteopathy and work with kids and babies of all ages.

I’ve been seeing children and babies struggling with sleep issues, colics, flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly, brachycephaly), reflux, constipation, latch issues, scoliosis, orthodontic issues, attention deficit disorder, etc.

I graduated from the Institut Superieur d’Osteopathie in Aix en Provence, France, in 2009 after presenting a thesis about Osteopathy and Postpartum recovery (specifically the impact osteopathy has on the pelvic girdle’s static and mobility after giving birth).

I worked in 4 different countries (France, Canada, USA and Spain) where I learned about all the different approaches of osteopathy. I was lucky to work hand in hand with Osteopaths who taught me a lot!

Training:

2009 – Graduated with Honors from ISO Aix

2010 – Training in pediatrics osteopathy and pregnancy/postpartum osteopathy

2011 – Training in Chinese Medicine (Iniciation)

2015 – Training in Holistic Nutrition

2016 – Training in Medical Fitness training

2018 – De Gasquet methodology for pregnancy and postpartum

2023 – Training in Functional Nutrition and Medicine

Frequently Asked Questions

A consultation is 45 minutes long in average and in total. It can last more or less depending on the “amount of work” your body needs and/or can tolerate.

For newborns and young babies, the session can last less to avoid tiring them out.

If you’re comfortable being in your underwear, your osteopath can ask you to take off some layers of clothes. Otherwise leggings and a thin t-shirt also work!

For newborns and babies, thin clothes are preferred as we don’t take off their clothes during the session.

If the birth was uncomplicated, you can schedule a visit around the 6 weeks mark.

If the use of instruments was required, or you had an emergency c-section, it’s a good idea to schedule a consultation in the first month after giving birth, as soon as you feel ready to leave the house.

Every time you feel a discomfort/pain, you can schedule a visit.

During the first trimester, we will work locally on the painful area as there’s a lot we can’t do during that first trimester.

After that, a visit per trimester or each time you’re struggling with some discomfort, is best.

During the last bout of your pregnancy (month 7/8), it’s best to schedule a session where we will work on all the pelvic structures, around baby, etc, to ensure that your body is completely ready for birth, and that each joint will have the full range of motion to do its part of the job during  delivery!

If the birth was uncomplicated, we can wait 1 month to 6 weeks for that first session.

If birth was complicated, it’s best to schedule a session as soon as you can leave the house.

After that, depending on why you’re coming to the practice for, we can establish a treatment plan (plagiocephaly follow ups, etc). We usually try to see babies every month when needed.

If you’re coming for check ups, the best is to schedule sessions when we hit some major development and growth spurt, or when symptoms arise.

If there’s no specific symptoms, 2 times to 3 times a year is a good rhythm to be proactive and preventive.

If you’re scheduling a session for orthodontics follow ups, scoliosis, attention deficit disorders, etc, we will discuss a different rhythm depending on your child’s needs and progress.
