Postpartum Exercise and Pospartum Recovery
In today’s episode, I’d like to answer a question that lots of you are asking yourself. You gave birth weeks, months, or even years ago and you are now ready to help your body recover. You are looking for someone or a postpartum program to help you get rid of mummy pouch, strengthen your abdomen, lose baby weight and/or address any pelvic floor discomfort you might have. You just want to feel good and confident in your own body. Or maybe you are still pregnant but wonder about what’s next and want to plan ahead? How to make sure you will recover quickly enough and feel like your old self again asap?
That’s the type of question I am answering in this episode. You can listen to it on the link above. I added some notes below!
Early postpartum and postpartum recovery - what you need to remember
- Before picking our your program, you have to see if this program or their methodology offers any kind of “early postpartum” recovery.
- Try to see if the program or coach is specialized in postpartum recovery and pregnancy/birth prep
- Ask questions or find answers on the qualifications/certifications and most of all experience of the coach/founder.
Abdominal and pelvic floor recovery more than muscle toning - what you need to remember
- Is there any emphasis on abdominal and pelvic floor recovery more than muscle toning?
- If this will be addressed briefly and not constituting the most part of your program, this might not be the best approach for you.
- As for muscle toning, look for any mention of functional training specific to moms and the demands of motherhood.
