Today, it’s not going to be about fitness, we’re going to talk about wellness and ways to embrace your pregnancy. It’s part of our upcoming offer, the prenatal holistic training program. But first, let me introduce myself.

I’m Leslie Abraham, founder of Bonjour Baby! I offer online holistic coaching to prepare pregnant women like you for childbirth. I put together this program after helping pregnant women for more than 10 year as a DO and personal trainer.

At the end of this video I’ll share with you 2 of my favorite meditation apps during pregnancy.

Beginning this journey can be tricky. A lot of women don’t recognize their bodies and it could be hard to really embrace your pregnancy as soon as you can.

Using mindfulness and ways to own your body can help a lot. By doing so, you’ll find ways to accept all the changes that are going on in your body, and most importantly, understand that it is now, and that everything is happening for your baby.

It is now, and  everything is happening for your baby.

Some of the benefits of meditating during your pregnancy are an improved sleep, anxiety and stress management, accepting and owning your changing body, connecting with your baby since early stages, labor visualization and preparation, decreasing the risk of postpartum depression.

I’m sure you’re like, ok I’m in.

So to help you settling in this pregnancy and thrive as a mom to be you can find ways to take the time to connect with your baby or visualize that you are preparing a nest for him or her, understand that you are getting ready, everyday a little more. Those are all tools and tips that you could add to your weekly routine.

Remember also that you won’t live and experience this pregnancy with this baby twice. So make time in your schedule to analyze what you feel at every moment.

I usually recommend journaling to my clients. Taking the time to write down what you feel, the dreams that you had, the feelings that changed, taking pictures of your changing body, your health and nutrition goals and keeping yourself accountable. Journal everything that is happening in your life, your health, your diet, your cravings and aversions, your sleep, your relationship with your partner, the thoughts that you have for your baby, values that you wish to transmit to your baby….

You can also use meditation to get ready for labor by using visualization methods, understanding that you are ready to welcome somebody new in your life and so decrease the anxiety of becoming a mother. I will also advise to “rehearse” ahead different strategies that can help during the contractions and make sure you master breathing. You can check that video it will give you a bit more insights on that.

Now I told you that I was going to share with you my favorite meditation apps for your pregnancy. You can find plenty of them. I’m just gonna talk about 2, and to be transparent with you, I don’t earn any money doing it!

The first, and it’s my absolute favorite, is Expectful: you can set up different goals, and you also have weekly meditations corresponding to the week you’re into. They also offer bonding meditations to develop the connection with your growing baby. What I really like is that they offer couple meditation too. So your partner is not left to the side. I really love that.

The second is Headspace, if you look for it, they have specific pregnancy meditations inside. I love headspace, it’s really simple, visual and you have different type of approach and you can choose your meditation based on how long you have to meditate.
